November 23, 1931 - December 1, 2023

Allan “Stem” Wallace passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023 at his residence in Gowanda, NY. Allan graduated from Gowanda High School in 1949 and Syracuse University in 1953. He was the owner of Wallace’s Men and Ladies Wear and retired in 1995.

Allan was chairman of the United Torch Fund, Gowanda Health and Services, and the American Red Cross. He also served as director for the Gowanda Country Club, the Caring Coalition, and Tri-County Memorial Hospital. Allan was a member of the Village Planning Board, as well as being Village Bingo Inspector. He was also a lifetime member of the Slovenian Club of Gowanda and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.

Allan is predeseased in death by his parents, Belle and Charles Wallace. He is survived by many friends and cousins.

A favorite saying of Allan’s was, “Speak kind words and you will hear kind echoes.”
