Carl Ross Lubick of Amherst, 63, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 12th, in the care of his loving and dearly beloved wife, Linda Stein. Predeceased by his mother, Margaret, and his brother, Robert, Carl is survived by his father, Lawrence, of Buffalo and his brothers including: Dr. Aaron M. Lubick and wife Amy of Mt. Airy, MD; Daniel Lubick and wife Susan of Amherst, NY; Benjamin Lubick and wife Ruth of New York, NY; David Lubick and wife Lisa of Essex, MA; and their sons, his six adoring nephews Nate, Eli, Jonah, Sam, Avi, and Louis. He also holds the highest place in the embracing hearts of his entire Stein family, his cousin/brother Lawrence Sullivan, and his dearest Aunt Jeannie, who finally admits that Carl was her favorite.

Demonstrating remarkable mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills from the time the first family TV went on the blink, Carl graduated from Amherst High School before serving honorably in the US Navy for 6 years where he supervised the operation of the entire engine room on a slow moving frigate as he witnessed the world. Carl then earned his BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Buffalo and his professional engineering licensure. He distinguished himself in his work, becoming a Senior Engineer and Principal during his 20 year career at Wendel Companies where his colleagues admired him for his keen mind, quick sense of humor, constant and efficient energy, and his careful, patient mentorship. Well-versed and well-read in literature, the cosmos, trivia and horticulture, gifted with kindness, humility and prodigal wit, Carl loved music, his time with family and travel. He enjoyed everything he did with Linda to the fullest.
