Eugenia Abramowitz (nee Smith)
July 1, 1930 - October 26, 2024
Eugenia Smith Abramowitz, 94, passed away on October 26, 2024 at her home in Monroe Township, NJ. She was pre-deceased by her husband Jack Abramowitz in 1971. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, she graduated from Lafayette High School. She was a longtime resident of Kenmore, NY where she raised her family: son, Barry Abramowitz, and daughter, Amy Abramowitz Cohen.
Eugenia was employed by M&T Bank for more than 35 years where she worked in various capacities. She also volunteered with the National Council of Jewish Women.
Upon her retirement, she moved to Monroe Township, NJ (Rossmoor) in 1998 to be closer to her children, her daughter-in-law, Kris, and her son-in-law, Howie.
Eugenia loved spending time with her 6 grandchildren: Michele, Michael, Julie, Dana and her husband, Ethan, and Lisa. She was an active volunteer with Jewish Family Services and Jewish Congregation. She enjoyed attending Friday evening services with the congregation and participating in all the synagogue activities. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her late companion, Herb, and playing Mahjong and canasta with her many friends.
Eugenia was an extremely proud Buffalonian and was a huge Buffalo Bills fan. She will be buried in Buffalo, NY with her beloved husband, Jack Abramowitz, at a private, graveside service.
The family requests that donations be made in Eugenia’s memory at Jewish Family Services of Middlesex County or Buffalo, or the Rossmoor Jewish Congregation.
